Chicken Harvest Seminar - Saturday, June 4 at 8am- 2pm and maybe beyond Pack a lunch - $50

**There is a $50 fee for this seminar. $25 of the $50 fee will be credited toward the rental of the poultry processing equipment for customers that qualify for its use by purchasing all of their feed from Ward Lumber.

How to prepare BEFORE harvest day. Handling to minimize stress and eliminate bruising & breaking. Humane bleeding using cones. Plucking using Featherman Pro Plucker. Evisceration using proper techniques. Packaging using shrink bags to reduce freezer burn. Scalding using a Featherman thermostatically controlled, propane scalder.

Gardening Ward Lumber Lyme awareness Lee Ann SpornLee Ann Sporn, Ph.D., is a Professor of Biology at Paul Smith's College. She has recently teamed up with the New York State Department of Health to monitor Lyme disease in the North Country

Gardening Ward Lumber Jay WardHolly Ahern is professor of microbiology at SUNY Adirondack. As a result of her family’s personal battle with Lyme disease, she co-founded the non-profit organization Lyme Action Network which provides educational programs and literature on tick-borne diseases.

 

Dr. Ronald StramDr. Stram is the founder of the Stram Center for Integrative Medicine. He believes in using holistic and preventative care as a way to reduce the debilitating symptoms that often come with a chronic illness. The Stram Center uses conventional medicine as well as complementary styles to get the most effective results for their patients. He is Ilads trained in the treatment of Lyme disease and offers both testing and treatment at his center.
