Forestry & Recreational Leasing
Ward Lumber has been dedicated to sound forestland stewardship over four generations, and has achieved long-term sustained yield since the 1940’s. Our Forestry Department currently manages over 5,000 acres of timberland and tree farms that Ward Lumber owns.
Recreational Leases
Ward Lumber leases many of our 5,000 acres of timberland. The lease allows for posting by the leasing party. Other criteria are involved as well including an insurance requirement. Sustainable Forestry 
Ward Lumber has been practicing sustainable forestry since the 1950's, before it was a catchy phrase. This woodlot, formerly a
farm field, was planted in 1928, and was harvested in the 1960s, 1970s, 1998 and 2007. The larger trees were planted in 1928. All of the seedlings and
saplings (smaller trees) are natural regeneration, having been planted by nature. |
